Have you caught the trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street movie? The remake, coming out April 30, 2010, is supposed to reboot the franchise that has gone through some pretty hard times in the last years. The last time Freddy hit the big screen was in the disastrous Freddy vs. Jason.

So are movie goers ready to have their dreams haunted by the less than friendly Freddy? New Line Cinema is gambling on it and from the look of the trailer they didn’t cut any corners. (Even though the film only had a 28 million dollar budget.)

Here is a little more information about the movie:

“A Nightmare on Elm Street is an upcoming 2010 American horror film written by Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick, directed by Samuel Bayer, and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. It is a remake of Wes Craven’s 1984 slasher film of the same name and designed to reboot the franchise. The film stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, a role made famous by Robert Englund, while Rooney Mara takes over the role of Nancy Thompson, originally portrayed by Heather Langenkamp. The remake is set to be released on April 30, 2010.”
