IBM Layoffs 2010
A new round of layoffs at IBM are on the horizon. That is the news that has been circulating through out the company and on the Internet. This has really put employees at the company on edge and for good reason. The term “layoffs” has never really been formulated. But that isn’t surprising.
That is because the term has been replaced with IBM-speak and is know in the company as a “resource action”. The workers affected by this refer to it as being “RA’d”.
The RA’s will probably be most felt in the companies Research Triangle Park site. This is the largest of the companies site. More than 10,000 people are employed on the campus of RTP.
IBM the global information technology and services giant has recently opened another data center, housing their severs, on the grounds which adds more than 30 additional jobs.
The announcement for the 2010 IBM Layoffs, sorry you must excuse the ninja, “resource action” is expected to be made sometime today.

A statement in an article was made: “Workers who were notified about being laid off can seek other positions within the company.” but the reality is that if the employee’s name is on the RA list managers are not allowed to hire them. The managers have been instructed that if a person is on the Resource Action list they are not allowed to consider the person. The person is not available for hire. I am in middle-management and I know that for a fact. Please investigate your statement further and find out how many people that have been on the Resource Action list have been able to find a job in IBM without leaving the company first (very few – it is close to impossible).
