Curtiss SB2C Helldiver found in Oregon

But that isn’t the same as a missing plane that went down in Wheeler, Oregon over sixty years ago. The small coastal town is surrounded by heavily wooded areas. This is probably one reason why the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver has probably gone undiscovered for so many years. The Helldiver was the primary attack and bombing plane during the second World War. Why the plane crash landed there is still up in the air (ninja pun). What makes the case so interesting is that the remains of the crew have been recovered, too. Once the plane has been identified the families of the men will finally be able to put this chapter of their lives to an end. You can learn more about the aircraft by visiting wikipedia.
