East-West Shrine Game 2010

If you follow college football you will know that today is the East-West Shrine Game. The game will start today, January 23rd at 2 p.m. Central Time. You can catch it live on ESPN2 from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Ok, that takes care of the people that know, and plan to watch the game, what about everyone else? The East-West Shrine Game is the oldest, of the post-season college bowl games, and was established in 1925. It gives players from the eastern schools a chance to compete against those from the western ones. What makes the game so important is the high class of both the players and the coaches involved. If you only watch one college game a year you should make it the Senior Bowl. The reason is simple, you’re almost certainly granted an exciting game of college football. But there is more to it that simply great football. If you noticed this is the Shriner Bowl, and the real thrill comes in knowing that the event raises funds for the Shriners Hospital for Children. The football players get to visit the hospital, which is specialized in burn, cleft lip and palate care, orthopedic and rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries.   1. This was a really good game, I don’t know if you had a chance to see it, but I got tickets and it was a lot of fun. Not as good as the Super Bowl, but fun.
