Are you one of the many singles (or married schmucks looking for a quickie) that frequents Plenty of Fish? If you are you may have noticed that their site is down.Don’t worry, the site will be back up, and probably is at the time of writing. But Plenty of Fish has had some downtime today and many users were unable to log into their accounts. The ninja can feel for you, you’re lonely and you keep hearing their are plenty of fish in the sea. PoF is your next, giving you an opportunity to catch some of them.
But that isn’t the same as a missing plane that went down in Wheeler, Oregon over sixty years ago. The small coastal town is surrounded by heavily wooded areas. This is probably one reason why the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver has probably gone undiscovered for so many years. The Helldiver was the primary attack and bombing plane during the second World War. Why the plane crash landed there is still up in the air (ninja pun). What makes the case so interesting is that the remains of the crew have been recovered, too. Once the plane has been identified the families of the men will finally be able to put this chapter of their lives to an end. You can learn more about the aircraft by visiting wikipedia. Earlier today the ninja wrote about the terrible earthquake in Chile. When he first wrote about it the pictures and information were both spares. But will a little more searching he was able to find several pictures from the scene. The quake measured 8.3 on the Richter scale, and had a magnitude of 8.8. Here are several pictures of earlier pictures.
If the earthquake in Haiti wasn’t bad enough there has been another massive earthquake, this time in Chile. The earthquake that read 8.8 magnitude on the Richter scale. At least 85 people have been reported dead. Details have been sparse, and there is no word on the effect the quakes have had on Concepcion, the second largest city in Chile. Concepcion was the largest city near the epicenter of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake. There are reports coming in that buildings have sustained damage more than 200 miles away in the capital of Chile, Santiago. The photo was taken of the countries capitol showing some of the damage the tremors caused. Reports also have been talking about the aftershocks causing additional damage. If this isn’t enough a tsunami is threatening the coastal regions of the country. Here is some raw footage of the city taken shortly after the tectonic plats shifted.
